California's Antigen Discovery nailed down a $2.5 million federal grant to continue work on a malaria vaccine, according to The Orange County Register. This isn't the first time the company has seen federal dollars for its work; the company has raked in $14 million in federal grants under the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Research programs. The newest three-year grant from the National Institutes of Health's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases will go toward a joint research effort between Antigen and Maryland-based vaccine oufit Sanaria for the malaria vaccine.
