Vaccination campaigns have contributed to global deaths from measles falling by 78% since 2000, World Health Organization (WHO) data shows. Since 2000, the Measles & Rubella Initiative has vaccinated 1 billion children in mass immunization campaigns. The one-off immunization drives have supported routine vaccination efforts. Routine immunization coverage held steady at 84%, and 145 countries now offer a booster shot as part of their vaccination schedule. Release
