MERS coronavirus infections have surged recently, with Saudi Arabia reporting two more deaths and 13 new cases on Thursday. But a vaccine may be on its way soon to stem the virus' spread. After the Saudi Health Ministry said earlier that it was working with 5 international pharma companies to develop a vaccine, a Saudi virologist told local media that it would be available within 6 months, China's Xinhua reported. The syndrome, which usually leads to severe acute respiratory illness, has killed 93 and infected 254 since September 2012, according to WHO data; Al Jazeera says 83 people have died in Saudi Arabia in that time span.
