Twitter opinions linked to vaccine uptake
Penn State University researchers have developed an algorithm capable of analyzing the tone of updates on the microblogging site Twitter to determine users' opinions of vaccines. The researchers were able to identify regional attitudes towards influenza shots based on the data they collected. Analyzing social media conversations could allow public health officials to tailor educational campaigns to the attitudes of various regions. Article
